LISTINGS:
Each book is individually inspected, graded to industry standard Condition Grades, and any noteworthy flaws included in the listing comments. There should be no unpleasant surprises upon receiving your order. We are human, though, and an occasional flaw may escape our inspection. Our book packaging, delivery time and lost package metrics are among the best in the business, but stuff happens. Please contact us if there is ANY problem with your order.

BOOK IMAGES:
Many of our listings use stock cover images. Reasonable effort is made by 4Shadows Books to provide photos or cover scans of the actual book offered, particularly where the cover design differs from the stock image or where the book condition warrants the extra effort (e.g. evident exterior flaws or particularly attractive).

Photos or cover scans provided by 4Shadows for specific listings are marked as such (look for a light blue bar at the bottom of the thumbnail, or the 4Shadows Books name in the corner), are of the actual copy offered, and may not be copied, edited or otherwise used for commercial purposes without the express consent of 4Shadows Books. Typically, only one image is provided for each listing. If additional photos (or any other detail) are needed in order to make a buying decision, please feel free to contact us.

PAYMENT:
Payment can be made via Paypal or through Amazon.com's checkout system. PROMOTIONAL COUPONS AND DISCOUNTS CANNOT BE APPLIED TO ORDERS PROCESSED VIA AMAZON.COM CHECKOUT.

Clicking the "PayPal Add To Cart" button will add the title to the cart. Shipping charge is lower using this payment method, and shipping discounts are automatically applied for multiple books in this cart.
Clicking the "Buy From Amazon".button from a book in our inventory will take you to our listing on Amazon, where you can then add that selection to the Amazon cart, and complete the check out there, along with anything else you might be interested in there, either directly from Amazon or from any other seller on the Amazon marketplace. Complete the checkout and the order will be processed just like any other Amazon order. But, don't forget to come back!

SHIPPING:
Orders are (almost) always shipped within one business day, quite often the same day as ordered, after payment confirmation is received from PayPal or Amazon. Delivery confirmation or tracking will be used for domestic shipments and the tracking number provided in a shipping confirmation email sent at the time of shipment. If you think you ordered something but have not received a shipping confirmation, please contact us - something may have gone wrong or not been completed in the checkout process.

Shipping rates (PayPal checkout):
1st book: $2.99 US standard, $4.50 US expedited
Each additional book: $1.00 US standard, $2.00 US expedited
International: Actual postage costs vary wildly by destination and weight. An estimate is provided ($12 for first book), but international buyers using PayPal checkout should stop before making payment and request an invoice. The shipping charge will be the actual postage cost with no added handling fees.

Shipping rates (Amazon checkout):
Shipping charges are determined by Amazon, and provides no discount for orders including multiple items.
Each book: $3.99 US standard, $6.99 US expedited
International: $12.49 per book. (For listings of heavy books where international shipping costs would exceed the standard shipping allowance, international shipping is disabled.)

By using barcoded labels, USPS recommended label fonts, and electronic address verification with the addition of ZIP+4 codes when available, our experience has been that most of our domestic shipments by Media Mail arrive in about a week (except to AK and HI). If your book(s) have not arrived by then, please contact us so we can think up a good excuse.

RETURNS & REFUNDS:
Items may be returned for any reason within 14 days of receipt (at the buyer's expense) for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping. In cases where an item has been mis-described, it may be returned within 30 days of receipt (at our expense) for a comprehensive refund and abject apology.

BOOK SEARCHES:
We are always happy to help you find any book, in-print or out! Just contact us with your requirements for price, edition, and condition and we will get back to you with quotes for what we find. Ordinarily you are under no obligation to complete the purchase and we will guarantee that the book is as described by our source by having it delivered to us first for inspection. You may, however, request that we have a book sent directly to you by our source to save on shipping, in which case you will be billed immediately. Our fees are usually nominal, but necessarily scale with the amount of time and effort required to locate a copy that meets your requirements.

TRADE & INSTITUTIONAL DISCOUNTS:
We are happy to offer standard trade discounts to other professional booksellers upon request and verification of status. Libraries and educational institutions are also welcome to request this discount.
